The damning evidence we had gathered on Victor's criminal enterprise was finally reaching critical mass. Shipping logs, financial records, witness accounts, Adrian's statements—it all painted a clear picture of an international smuggling ring dealing in black market artifacts and money laundering on a massive scale. The time had come to begin planning our takedown strategy.

I reviewed the documents laid out across the desk, my excitement building as I anticipated finally destroying the man who had hurt Liam so deeply. Glancing up, I saw Liam watching me from across the study, a small smile playing about his lips.

"What is it?" I asked, amused by his scrutiny.

"Nothing, just enjoying seeing you in your element," Liam replied, coming over to perch on the edge of the desk. "Watching that big brilliant brain of yours work is pretty hot."

I laughed, shaking my head. I would never understand how he saw me as anything special compared to his own radiance. I reached out to trace the handsome lines of his face, unable to resist touching him.

"You know there's no way I could have gotten this far without you, right?" I said seriously. "Your skills and insights have been invaluable at every turn."

Liam's cheeks pinked appealingly at the praise, though his expression turned thoughtful. "Actually, that reminds me—we should talk about putting my particular skills to use soon."

I raised a questioning brow. Liam grinned, his eyes taking on that dangerous glint that never failed to quicken my pulse.

"I'm talking about forgery. I'm betting I could create some replicas convincing enough to swap into Victor's stash, get that evidence you need to nail him."

I sat back, considering the idea. It was risky, but brilliant. With Liam's help, we could catch Victor red-handed with the stolen artifacts.

"You're absolutely right," I mused, already working through the specifics. "If we can secretly access his storehouses, make detailed records of what to replicate, you could make the switch before his next major shipment..."

Liam squeezed my shoulder, breaking me out of tactical planning. "Hey, as fun as it is watching you scheme, don't forget to take breaks, okay?" His voice softened. "You've already done the hard work of gathering intel. The rest we'll handle together."

My chest swelled with fondness and pride for this clever, passionate man. I drew him down into my lap, needing him close. "Have I mentioned lately how incredibly lucky I am to have met you?"

Liam rolled his eyes, but couldn't hide his pleased smile. "Only every day, you big softie." He leaned in, nose brushing mine. "But I guess I'm pretty lucky to have you too."

The kiss that followed was slow and deep, speaking of desire but also the bone-deep connection we now shared. With Liam's lithe body pressed so close, I was powerless to resist sliding my hands lower to appreciate his taut backside.

Liam pulled back with a breathless laugh. "As distracting as this is, we probably have some planning to do first." His eyes sparked with determination as he slid off my lap. "We're taking Victor down once and for all.
